About Blechexpo
Blechexpo is an international trade fair for sheet metal working, held every two years at Messe Stuttgart and organised by P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG. It runs at the same time as Schweisstec, the organiser's trade fair for joining technology, so the two events together cover the whole process chain from forming and cutting through to joining.
On the Blechexpo side, the focus is cold forming of sheet metal and the thermal and mechanical cutting processes associated with it, along with the handling, automation, tooling and software that support production. Schweisstec adds welding, bonding and other joining and fastening technology.
Visitors are production managers, engineers and buyers from metal processing companies and the industries they serve, such as automotive, mechanical engineering and electrical equipment. It is a technical audience that expects detailed answers about capability, throughput and cost.
Southern Germany is one of Europe's leading manufacturing regions, and the show gives suppliers direct access to it, as well as to the international visitors it attracts. Because the event is biennial, many buyers use it to compare technology before making significant investment decisions. For machine builders, tooling suppliers and automation specialists, the combination of Blechexpo and Schweisstec offers a chance to present complete process solutions rather than single machines.

Blechexpo 2027: what to expect
The 18th Blechexpo and the 11th Schweisstec run together at Messe Stuttgart from Tuesday 26 to Friday 29 October 2027. The organiser reported 1,190 exhibitors across nine halls at the 2025 edition, and 1,256 exhibitors from 38 countries in 2023.
Working machinery is common on stands, which brings heavy power supply, compressed air and extraction for cutting and welding into the plan from the start, along with floor loading and guarding. Screens showing close-ups of a cutting or forming process help visitors follow what a machine is doing, and sample parts make useful talking points. German speaking staff are an advantage with much of the audience.
