About EMO Milano
EMO is a world exhibition for metalworking and manufacturing technology, promoted by CECIMO, the European association of machine tool industries. It does not stay in one place: the show alternates between Hannover in Germany and Milan in Italy. Milan editions are organised by UCIMU-Sistemi per Produrre, the Italian association of manufacturers of machine tools, robots and automation systems, at the fieramilano exhibition centre in Rho.
The scope runs across the whole of production engineering. Metal cutting and metal forming machine tools sit alongside robots, automation systems, additive manufacturing, tooling, parts and components, metrology and quality control, digital manufacturing and artificial intelligence, and related services.
Visitors are production engineers, plant managers and buyers from sectors that rely on precision manufacturing, such as automotive, aerospace, energy, medical devices, mould making and general engineering. Many attend to compare competing technologies side by side before committing to major capital investments.
Because EMO does not take place every year and moves between two countries, manufacturers often time significant product launches to coincide with it. For exhibitors, the show offers a platform where the latest machines can be demonstrated running to an international audience of decision makers, and where long term customer relationships are maintained. Milan editions carry particular weight for companies targeting manufacturers in Italy and southern Europe.

EMO Milano 2027: what to expect
EMO Milano 2027 runs from Monday 4 to Friday 8 October 2027 at fieramilano Rho. It is the first time the show has returned to Milan since 2021.
Machine tool stands are among the most technically demanding at any exhibition. Heavy machines bring requirements for floor loading, rigging, power, compressed air and coolant, and delivery slots must be coordinated with the venue well ahead of build-up. The organiser publishes costs and participation conditions on its website, and exhibitors planning large or double-deck stands should review those rules early. Multilingual staff and literature will help with the international audience.
