About Home & Gift Buyers' Festival
Every July, buyers from independent shops make their way to Harrogate for the Home & Gift Buyers' Festival, a trade-only show that has been running for more than six decades. Organised by Clarion Events and held at Harrogate Convention Centre in North Yorkshire, it is known for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that sets it apart from larger, busier trade fairs.
The show is organised into sectors including design-led gift and homewares, general gift and home, fashion and jewellery, greetings and stationery, food and drink, and wellbeing. Exhibitors range from established wholesale brands to smaller designers and makers, and the emphasis is on quality and design rather than volume.
Buyers come from gift shops, homeware stores, garden centres, department stores, boutiques and online retailers across the north of England and the wider UK. Many are owner-managers who make purchasing decisions on the spot, which means orders are often written at the stand.
Timing is a large part of the appeal. A July show gives retailers the chance to finalise ranges and place orders for the autumn and Christmas trading period, so exhibitors can expect genuine buying activity rather than casual browsing. The organiser supports this with a digital show guide and product preview that help buyers plan their visit in advance, and with different visitor tiers for key buyers. For suppliers wanting to build or strengthen a network of independent stockists, few events offer such a concentrated and loyal audience.

Home & Gift Buyers' Festival 2027: what to expect
The 2027 festival runs from 18 to 21 July at Harrogate Convention Centre, Harrogate, and is open to trade visitors only.
Exhibits are spread across several of the convention centre's halls, including Halls A, B, C and M and the DP halls, so the location of a stand within the venue can make a real difference to footfall. It is worth asking the organiser which sectors will sit in each hall before choosing a space.
Buyers often use the digital show guide and product preview to plan their route, so exhibitors who submit listings and product images early are more likely to be on visitors' shortlists before the doors open.
