About InterTabac
Every September, the tobacco trade gathers in Dortmund for InterTabac, a trade fair dedicated to tobacco products and smoking accessories. It is staged by Messe Dortmund GmbH at its own exhibition centre, which gives the event a settled home and an organiser with long experience of running it.
The product range is broad. Cigars, cigarettes, pipes, fine cut tobacco and roll your own or make your own products sit alongside water pipes and shisha, e-cigarettes, heated tobacco, accessories, spirits and the software and point of sale systems that retailers rely on. Two companion events widen the picture: InterSupply concentrates on the manufacture of tobacco products, including processing technology and raw materials, while NUBIZ gives next generation products a platform of their own.
Admission is strictly for trade professionals working in the tobacco industry, and visitors must be adults, so the aisles are filled with buyers rather than the general public. The audience is international, with visitors travelling to Dortmund from many countries.
For manufacturers and brands, the appeal lies in meeting a global trade audience in a single place over a few days. Companies use the fair to present new ranges, renew contacts with existing partners and look for importers and distributors in markets where they are not yet represented. Suppliers to the production side benefit from having InterSupply under the same roof, as manufacturers and their equipment and materials partners can meet without travelling to a separate event.

InterTabac 2027: what to expect
The 2027 edition of InterTabac takes place at Messe Dortmund from Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 September 2027, once again running alongside InterSupply and NUBIZ.
Because entry is restricted to trade visitors who have passed age verification, exhibitors should make sure that any guests they invite are registered properly before the show. Rules on presenting and sampling tobacco and nicotine products are a practical consideration for stand design, so it is worth reading the organiser's exhibitor regulations before the layout is fixed. Companies whose offer spans finished products and manufacturing supplies should also think about which of the three events their stand belongs in, as that decides who walks past it.
