About Stockholm Furniture Fair
Stockholm Furniture Fair is the main Scandinavian gathering for furniture, lighting and interior design, held at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, south of central Stockholm, and organised by Stockholmsmässan itself. The fair is held every two years, a biennial rhythm adopted from 2027 onwards.
The fair draws a mix of established Nordic and international brands alongside younger studios and first-time exhibitors, with a strong emphasis on design for public environments as well as homes. Products on show span seating, tables, lighting, textiles, acoustics and other interior elements for contract and residential settings.
Its visitors are designers, architects, interior designers, buyers and specifiers from across the Nordics and further afield. The fair is primarily a trade event, though the public is admitted on the final day.
Several curated sections give the show its character. Greenhouse, running since 2003, is a platform for emerging designers and design schools and has launched the careers of a number of now well-known names. New Ventures highlights brands, studios and designers exhibiting for the first time, and Scandinavian Innovators focuses on sustainability and future-facing furniture solutions.
The fair coincides with Stockholm Design Week, when showrooms and studios across the city run their own events, so much of the design community is in town at once. For brands targeting Scandinavian specifiers, that concentration of architects and designers in one week is the main reason to exhibit.

Stockholm Furniture Fair 2027: what to expect
The 2027 Stockholm Furniture Fair runs from 9 to 12 February at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö. It is the first edition under the new biennial format, following a pause in 2026, and Stockholm Design Week returns alongside it.
Trade visitors are admitted from Tuesday to Friday, and the public is also admitted on the Friday. Greenhouse, New Ventures and the newer Scandinavian Innovators area all feature, giving emerging designers, first-time exhibitors and sustainability-led companies dedicated platforms.
With two years between editions, brands will have more new work to show, and exhibitors should plan for a different visitor mix on the Friday, when stands need to handle general visitors without disrupting appointments with specifiers. Sustainability and material choices are visible talking points with this audience, which can extend to how the stand itself is built.
