About Anuga
Anuga is a trade fair for food and beverages held every two years at Koelnmesse in Cologne. It is organised by Koelnmesse together with the German food retail federation BVLH, with the food and drink industry federation BVE and the hotel and restaurant association DEHOGA as conceptual sponsors.
The fair is organised as ten trade shows in one location: Anuga Fine Food, Drinks, Chilled & Fresh Food, Meat, Frozen Food, Dairy, Bread & Bakery, Hot Beverages, Organic and Alternatives. That structure lets visitors go straight to their category and gives producers of almost any food or drink product a clear place in the halls.
Exhibitors range from multinational food companies to small specialist producers, and many take part within national or regional pavilions. Visitors are trade buyers from retail, wholesale, food service and import businesses, with a strongly international profile.
For producers seeking export growth, Anuga offers the chance to meet distributors, importers and retail buyers from around the world within a few days. Because the fair runs every other year, buyers plan their visits carefully and arrive ready to discuss listings, volumes and logistics. The sheer scale of the event also makes preparation important: exhibitors who book meetings in advance and choose the right trade show within Anuga tend to see the best results.

Anuga 2027: what to expect
Anuga 2027 runs from Saturday 9 to Wednesday 13 October 2027 at Koelnmesse, Cologne. At the 2025 edition the organiser reported 8,015 exhibitors and 145,000 visitors from more than 190 countries, with 290,000 square metres of gross exhibition space.
Five days is a long show, so staffing rotas and stock replenishment need planning, particularly for stands that sample. Refrigeration, cooking equipment, water and waste all need to be ordered in good time, and Koelnmesse's food handling rules should be checked before the stand layout is fixed. Exhibitors joining a national pavilion should confirm what the pavilion provides before ordering additional services.
