About E-world energy & water
E-world energy & water is a major European trade fair for the energy and water industries, held every February at Messe Essen in Germany. It is organised jointly by Messe Essen and con|energy, and it has become a fixed date for utilities, traders and technology providers working on the energy transition.
The exhibition covers the breadth of the market: energy trading and procurement, grids and metering, renewables and storage, hydrogen and gas, e-mobility, software and IT for utilities, cyber security and water management. Exhibitors range from large energy companies and grid operators to specialist software houses and service providers.
Visitors are professionals from utilities and municipal works, grid operators, energy traders, industrial energy users, consultancies and policy circles. The audience is knowledgeable and commercially focused, and many attendees are involved in significant procurement and investment decisions.
A conference programme runs alongside the exhibition, with speakers from the energy industry, politics and wider business, which brings senior figures into the halls. A Career Day offers free admission to students, making the show useful for companies recruiting in a sector competing hard for talent.
Exhibitors attend to launch products, meet German and wider European customers, and follow regulatory and market shifts in one place. Because much of what is shown is software, services or large infrastructure, the strongest stands focus on meeting space and clear demonstration rather than physical product display.

E-world energy & water 2027: what to expect
E-world energy & water 2027 takes place at Messe Essen from 16 to 18 February. Resilient Infrastructure is the new focus topic, reflecting attention on security of supply and robust grids.
Demand for space is high. Messe Essen and con|energy reported in October 2026 that 90 per cent of the exhibition area was already booked, up from 85 per cent in June, and ticket sales have opened. The 2026 edition filled six halls with more than 1,100 exhibitors. The Career Day returns with free entry for school and university students.
Anyone still looking for a stand should act now, as remaining options will be limited. Commercially sensitive conversations are common at E-world, so enclosed meeting rooms often earn their place over open display space, and German-language material helps with the domestic audience.
