About Mondial de l'Auto (Paris Motor Show)
With more than 90 editions behind it, the Mondial de l'Auto, known in English as the Paris Motor Show, remains one of the major international events for the car industry. It is held every two years at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, organised by Hopscotch with the Plateforme Automobile (PFA), the body representing the French automotive industry, as partner.
The show combines a global media stage with a large consumer audience. Press days give carmakers a platform for world and European premieres in front of journalists from many countries, after which the halls open to the public for several days of heavy footfall.
Manufacturers are the centrepiece, and the line-up typically includes French and other European brands alongside a growing presence from Chinese carmakers, together with premium and performance marques. Around them, suppliers, mobility services, technology companies and accessory brands use the show to reach the same audience.
Visitors range from journalists and industry professionals to dealers, fleet buyers and very large numbers of car buyers and enthusiasts. For brands, the value lies in combining media coverage with direct contact with European consumers, and in being seen alongside the manufacturers. The biennial rhythm means each edition carries extra weight for launches, and the public days offer a chance to test reactions to new products with real buyers.

Mondial de l'Auto (Paris Motor Show) 2028: what to expect
Exact dates for the next Mondial de l'Auto have not been announced. In its 2026 closing release the organiser said the show will return in October 2028 with a longer format covering two weekends and a new set-up designed to welcome more visitors, without yet giving details of the site or halls. The 2026 edition drew 518,372 visitors and more than 100 exhibitors, according to the organiser. Brands considering 2028 should register interest early and wait for the floor plan before committing to a stand concept, as a two-weekend run will change staffing, durability and budget assumptions.

How Mondial de l'Auto (Paris Motor Show) 2026 went
The 91st Mondial de l'Auto closed on 18 October 2026 after six public days and a press day at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Organisers Hopscotch and the PFA reported 518,372 visitors, more than 100 exhibitors representing over 60 car brands, and around 5,000 accredited journalists and content creators, roughly half of them from abroad. Test driving was a major draw: the La Squadra test centre offered close to 100 models and logged 6,000 drives by the close, while a first for the show let visitors try supervised automated driving on open roads with Deloitte. The organiser also says manufacturers recorded record orders, as many visitors came to compare and buy. Other features included the 700 square metre UnLimited space for exceptional cars, conference programmes with Google, BCG and Capgemini, and the PFA's Fabrique de l'Innovation. Show director Serge Gachot has already pointed to October 2028, promising a longer format spanning two weekends and a new set-up to welcome more visitors.
