About FSB
Public spaces, sports venues and leisure facilities are the subject of FSB, an international trade fair held every two years at Koelnmesse in Cologne. Koelnmesse organises the event in partnership with IAKS, the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities, and it takes place at the same time as aquanale, the trade fair for swimming pools, saunas and wellness.
Exhibitors present products and services for sports surfaces, playgrounds and fitness, stadiums and arenas, urban furniture and landscape design, and the technology that keeps facilities running. Visitors include architects, landscape planners, local authorities, sports clubs, facility operators and contractors, many of them working on public projects with long planning cycles.
A strong architectural and planning dimension sets the fair apart. The IAKS Congress runs alongside the exhibition and the IOC IAKS Architecture Prize recognises outstanding sports and leisure buildings, which draws designers and specifiers to Cologne. Topics such as sustainability and climate adaptation feature prominently in the programme.
For exhibitors, FSB is a place to build relationships that may lead to specification on schemes years later. Its international profile makes it valuable for companies hoping to grow beyond their home market, and the overlap with aquanale brings in visitors planning wider leisure facilities that combine sport, swimming and wellness.

FSB 2027: what to expect
FSB 2027 takes place at Koelnmesse, Cologne, from Tuesday 26 to Friday 29 October 2027, alongside aquanale. Visitors are admitted from 10:00 to 18:00 on the first three days and until 16:00 on Friday. At the 2025 fair, the organiser reported 575 FSB exhibitors from 44 countries.
Many products at FSB are large, from play structures to seating and surfacing, so exhibitors need to decide what to bring full size and what to show through samples, models or video. Full size installations require delivery, assembly and floor loading to be agreed early. Material that architects and procurement teams can take away, such as specifications and case studies, is useful for tenders.
