About IDET
Brno has hosted IDET, the international fair for defence and security technologies, for many years, and the event is now one of the main defence industry gatherings in Central Europe. Veletrhy Brno organises it once every two years at the Brno Exhibition Centre.
Two related fairs run alongside: PYROS, focused on firefighting and rescue equipment, and ISET, covering security technologies. Together they bring major defence manufacturers and integrators into the same space as specialist suppliers of vehicles, communications, protective equipment, simulation, cyber security and fire and rescue technology.
Visitors are professionals: armed forces, police, fire and rescue services, government procurement officials and industry specialists. Official delegations from more than 50 countries typically attend, and the organiser presents the fair as an export platform for the Czech defence and security industry. For international suppliers, that makes it an efficient way to meet Central and Eastern European decision makers without travelling country to country.
A distinctive feature is the IDET ARENA, an outdoor area where military, police and fire service equipment is demonstrated in dynamic use, letting exhibitors show capability rather than just describe it. Recent editions have also highlighted themes such as space defence, cyber security, 3D technologies and start-ups. Because the fair is biennial, a presence in Brno tends to carry weight for two years.

IDET 2027: what to expect
IDET 2027 runs from 26 to 28 May at the Brno Exhibition Centre, alongside PYROS and ISET. Veletrhy Brno reported more than 35,000 visitors and over 650 exhibiting companies from 35 countries at the 2025 edition.
Exhibitors planning to show vehicles or heavy equipment should confirm floor loading, access doors and delivery slots early, and consider whether an outdoor plot or participation in the IDET ARENA demonstrations suits them better than hall space. Export control and display rules for equipment need time for paperwork, and a secure meeting room is worth including for conversations with procurement teams and delegations.
