About DSEI
Defence and Security Equipment International, known as DSEI, is one of the world's largest gatherings of the defence and security industry. Organised by Clarion Defence & Security, it has been running since 1999 and has been held at ExCeL London since 2001.
The exhibition spans land, naval, air, space and joint capabilities, with growing attention to technology, manufacturing and medical support. Exhibitors range from prime contractors showing vehicles, weapons, ammunition and platforms to specialists in electronics, communications, cyber, training, logistics and supply chain services, many grouped within international pavilions.
DSEI is a trade event with restricted access. Visitors include military personnel, government and procurement officials, official delegations from around the world, prime contractors and suppliers. The UK Ministry of Defence supports the event and contributes static displays, and the dockside setting of ExCeL allows visiting warships to berth alongside the venue, something few indoor exhibitions can offer.
For defence and security suppliers, the attraction is access to decision makers in one place. Procurement officials, armed forces representatives and prime contractors attend in large numbers, and the presence of official delegations creates opportunities for export conversations that would otherwise require extensive travel. A substantial seminar and keynote programme adds to the draw for senior visitors and gives exhibitors a view of the policy and capability priorities shaping future requirements.

DSEI 2027: what to expect
DSEI 2027 runs from 7 to 10 September at ExCeL London.
Clarion Defence & Security reported more than 1,700 exhibitors, more than 45,000 attendees and over 3,300 VIPs and official delegations at the 2025 show, with more than 90 countries represented.
Security requirements shape everything from stand build to staffing. Exhibitors should allow time for accreditation of their team and contractors, and check the organiser's rules on displaying weapons and controlled equipment, which can affect stand design and the timing of deliveries. Many stands include private meeting rooms for sensitive discussions.
