About Multimodal

Established in 2008, Multimodal is a trade exhibition for the transport, freight and supply chain community, held each summer at the NEC in Birmingham. It describes itself as the UK's leading logistics event for transport and supply chain, and it is admission-free for visitors.

The exhibition covers every way of moving goods. Exhibitors include freight forwarders, shipping lines, ports, air cargo specialists, rail freight operators, road hauliers, warehousing and fulfilment providers, last-mile delivery companies and logistics technology suppliers. The audience is made up of cargo owners and those who serve them: logistics and supply chain directors, procurement and transport managers, shipping and distribution managers from retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, importers and exporters, food producers and public sector bodies.

That buying audience is the main draw. Shippers come to compare options across modes and to find new partners, which makes the show a natural place for service providers to win contracts and for technology firms to meet operators. A free conference programme runs over the three days, and the Multimodal Awards and networking events give exhibitors further opportunities to build relationships.

Multimodal also sits at the centre of UK Logistics Week, a wider grouping of logistics events. The co-located Warehouse & Yard expos cover warehouse automation and yard operations, while other events in the week broaden the reach into road transport and e-commerce delivery. For suppliers whose services span several parts of the supply chain, that combination puts a large share of their customers in one place.
