About ProWein
Since its premiere in 1994, ProWein has been held every March by Messe Düsseldorf and has become one of the most important international trade fairs for wine and spirits. It brings producers, cooperatives, importers and suppliers from wine regions around the world together with trade buyers for three intensive days.
The exhibition spans still, sparkling and fortified wines, spirits and craft drinks, with many exhibitors grouped in national and regional pavilions. Participants come from more than 140 countries, which makes the halls a broad survey of the global trade.
Visitors are strictly trade, drawn from retail, wholesale, import and distribution, hospitality and specialist merchants. That focus means conversations on stands are typically about listings, allocations, pricing and distribution rather than general interest.
For producers looking for new markets, ProWein is one of the most efficient ways to meet international buyers in one place. Tastings, talks and masterclasses run throughout, and a VIP hosted buyer programme brings in selected buyers. The Discovery Zone gives smaller wineries a lower-cost way to take part, and Messe Düsseldorf extends the brand through ProWine events in Asia and South America.
Stands at ProWein are built around tasting. Counter space, chilling, spittoons, glassware and seating for longer conversations are the essentials, and exhibitors within a pavilion work within its shared design.

ProWein 2027: what to expect
ProWein 2027 runs from 7 to 9 March at the Düsseldorf fairgrounds, using Halls 1, 3, 4, 5, 7.0 and 7a. Opening hours are 9:00 to 18:00 on the Sunday and Monday and 9:00 to 16:00 on the Tuesday.
New for this edition is the Sparkling Visions Hub dedicated to sparkling wine, along with a curated Visionary Talk series and on-demand access to ProWein Agora content. The Discovery Zone returns as a platform for small wineries.
The shorter final day affects breakdown planning, and exhibitors need secure storage for stock and glassware across the three days. Exhibitors in a national pavilion should confirm early what the pavilion provides and what can be customised.
