About The Security Event
Held every year at the NEC in Birmingham, The Security Event is one of the UK's main exhibitions for commercial and enterprise security. Nineteen Group organises it as the anchor of a wider safety and security series, which also includes the National Cyber Security Show, the Fire Safety Event, the Health and Safety Event, The Workplace Event and The Facilities Event.
Product areas span access control, alarm monitoring, biometrics, video surveillance, intruder detection, perimeter protection and cyber security, along with training providers and related services. The exhibitor base runs from global manufacturers to distributors and service companies.
The visitor profile is strongly trade. Installers, integrators, consultants, specifiers and distributors make up most of the audience, with end users from sectors such as retail, education, construction and critical infrastructure making up the rest. These are the people who recommend and fit systems on real projects, which is why the show works well as a launch platform for products aimed at the installer channel.
A free, CPD accredited education programme runs across several theatres, including a security leaders summit, an access control forum and a zone on designing out crime run with Secured by Design. Live product testing and skills competitions add reasons for visitors to stay in the halls, and the co-located events bring facilities and safety professionals who often share security budgets.

The Security Event 2027: what to expect
The Security Event returns to Hall 5 at the NEC in Birmingham from 27 to 29 April 2027. The organiser reported more than 18,500 security professionals and over 450 exhibitors at the 2026 show, and says the event is growing to 22,000 square metres for 2027.
The National Cyber Security Show runs in the same space, and the Fire Safety, Health and Safety, Workplace and Facilities events are co-located, so cyber and physical security vendors can reach a shared audience.
Installers expect to handle kit, so working walls with cameras, readers and panels powered up tend to draw more interest than static displays. Perimeter and barrier exhibitors should confirm height limits and floor loading with the organiser well before build-up.
