About BAU
BAU, held every two years at the trade fair centre in Munich and organised by Messe München, describes itself as the world's leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems. It brings together the latest techniques, materials and applications for planning, building and designing, from the building envelope through to interiors.
Exhibitors present materials, systems and solutions for commercial, residential and interior construction, along with the digital tools used to plan and deliver buildings.
The audience is professional and specification-led. Architects, planners, investors, representatives of industry and commerce, the building trades and other professionals involved in planning and building attend, many of them to see how new products perform and how they fit into current projects.
Because BAU takes place only every other year, many manufacturers time new product generations to it, and visitors expect to see significant launches. Each edition is organised around key themes that frame the content programme, giving exhibitors a clear structure for presenting innovations. For building product suppliers targeting European specifiers, the concentration of architects and planners in one place makes the fair a central date in the industry calendar.

BAU 2027: what to expect
BAU 2027 runs from 11 to 15 January at Messe München. The key themes for this edition are materials and resources, climate protection and climate adaptation, changing living spaces, and digitalisation and productivity.
The five-day show runs from Monday to Friday, so it is a purely working-week event with a professional audience. With BAU taking place only every two years, competition for prime hall positions and contractor capacity is high, and exhibitors still finalising stand designs should allow for Messe München's technical approval process, particularly for multi-storey stands or heavy façade and glazing exhibits.
