About Construmat
Barcelona's international construction exhibition has a long history and presents itself as the reference point for the building industry in Spain. Fira de Barcelona organises Construmat at its Gran Via venue.
The show covers construction, renovation and maintenance in broad terms. Exhibitors present building materials such as insulation and coatings, industrialised construction systems, machinery, interior finishes, flooring, bathrooms and kitchens, carpentry, HVAC and energy management solutions. That range attracts manufacturers, distributors, contractors, architects, engineers, developers and installers, so the show reaches both those who specify products and those who buy and fit them.
Sustainability and innovation are central themes. A Sustainable Building Congress runs alongside the exhibition, a workshop area offers practical training sessions, and a start-ups zone with an investment forum showcases young companies in construction and property technology. The Construmat Awards, curated with the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, recognise innovative products and projects.
For companies targeting the Spanish construction market, the show offers direct access to specifiers and buyers at a time of strong focus on housing, renovation and decarbonisation. Spanish language graphics and staff help with the domestic audience, while English materials support international visitors. Physical samples and full scale details, such as facade sections or insulation build ups, tend to work well with this practical audience.

Construmat 2027: what to expect
Construmat 2027 takes place at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona from 18 to 20 May. Fira de Barcelona reported 368 exhibitors and more than 22,300 professional visitors at the 2025 edition, and says it is growing the show further for 2027, with rebooking rates for returning exhibitors and early booking discounts for newcomers.
Exhibitors planning to show machinery or heavy components should raise delivery, floor loading and safety requirements with the organiser early. BIM and digital tool providers will need screens and a dependable connection, and Barcelona accommodation books up quickly around major fairs.
