About IBTM World
IBTM World is a global trade event for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry, organised by RX within its travel portfolio and held each November at Fira Barcelona Gran Via. It was previously known as EIBTM, and it is supported by a range of industry associations, including ICCA, AIPC, MPI, PCMA, IAPCO and European Cities Marketing.
Exhibitors are the suppliers of the meetings industry: destinations and convention bureaux, hotels and venues, destination management companies, event technology providers and other service suppliers, drawn from well over a hundred countries. A dedicated Hotel Pavilion and a startup programme add further variety to the floor.
The buying side is made up of corporate, agency and association event planners. Many attend through a hosted buyer programme, in which eligible buyers receive flights, accommodation and other support in return for taking part in scheduled appointments with exhibitors. That structure fills exhibitor diaries with meetings set against real requirements.
A conference programme runs across the three days, with a track for in-house event leaders and brand marketers among its strands, and networking spaces throughout the halls. For destinations and suppliers looking to win MICE business, IBTM World offers concentrated access to qualified international buyers. Stand design here leans towards hosting meetings efficiently, with several tables and good sight lines for buyers arriving to find their appointments.

IBTM World 2026: what to expect
IBTM World 2026 takes place at Fira Barcelona Gran Via from 17 to 19 November under the theme Meet the moment. The organiser lists around 2,500 destinations, hotels, event technology providers and suppliers from more than 150 countries, together with a three-day conference programme.
Features for 2026 include the Exceptional Experiences track for in-house event leaders and brand marketers, the Ignite startup programme, the Hotel Pavilion, networking spaces such as SmartSpace and the Sharer Hub, and lead tools for exhibitors.
Most of the business at IBTM World runs through pre-scheduled appointments, so stands should prioritise several meeting tables, clear stand numbering and a visible reception point over large display areas. Exhibitors using the organiser's lead tools should make sure staff know how to capture contacts before the doors open.
